Boathouse Cottage

Hi again!

I'm back with another boathouse cottage!

This Muskoka Victorian on Lake Rosseau is delightful with it's wraparound verandas and bay windows.

This is definitely the way to go if you're a boater (or not!!)

Gorgeous!

Moody Blue Cottage (With a Touch of Red)!

Hi Everyone!

Here's another delightful cottage.....this one by the Cottage Company of Harbor Springs.

I discovered this company a few years ago and really love all their work.  It's owned by a husband and wife team, Rob and Vee Mossburg.  He's the builder and she's the interior designer.  At that time, the company was smaller, but now I see it has grown somewhat (no surprise!) and Vee now has another designer on board.

You can see the detail that goes into the construction and Vee has a way with interiors - big or small she makes them warm and inviting......sometimes colorful and sometimes neutral.....and always personalized for the homeowner.

Enjoy!

Quilt Comfort

What could be more comforting than a warm quilt during these long, cold days of winter?

Except for Image 2, all of these quilts have shades of pink and red - two of the warmest colors in the palette!

In any color, though, a quilt often offers more than just comfort - if vintage, they could very well be a treasure inherited through the family, perhaps lovingly quilted by a mother, aunt or grandmother which also offers memories of another time and place.

Sometimes, quilts are used for decorative purposes only and hung on walls or draped across furniture and used for furniture upholstery, for effect.

Whether used for comfort, color, effect or as a collection, a quilt in any room adds a certain sense of charm and hominess!

Tomorrow, I will offer ways of decorating with quilts!

Enjoy!
