Fabulous French Country

Who can get enough of Charles Faudree's charming decor......he is a true master of french country!  So masterful with his placement of objects.......each of his rooms has a lot to enjoy as your eye scans the picture as a whole, but it never looks cluttered to me.  Perhaps because every object is so well chosen, collectible and part of a collection........every item is appreciated and his color sense never fails!

The rooms below are from different homes he has decorated over his career.

Enjoy!

Love this room!

So cosy and inviting

What a great mix!

What charm!

Conservatory Living

We don't see many conservatories in this part of the world, but I have always loved them.

They seem to be a way of life in other parts of the world though, especially England.   And they are used in many ways, as you will see below.

Loving the Art of Georgia Fiennes

This British artist loves animals and loves whimsy...............by combining both, she has come up with a unique and colorful perspective.

I first saw her work at Brabourne Farm a while back, and had to check out her art......it's irresistible!

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Gathering Around

I love this look with four chairs around a cocktail table.  I see it everywhere now and it's just a nice informal arrangement where the chairs are close enough to one another for easy conversation, yet far enough apart that you aren't in anyone's personal space.

What do you think?

Genghis Khan at The Plaza

Speaking of the Westminster Dog Show, Martha Stewart showed her chow-chow, Genghis Khan, who took Best of Breed!

While in the city for the show, they (yes, they!) stayed at none other than The Plaza!  And not only did Genghis Khan get to enjoy the beautiful surroundings once enjoyed by Eloise, he also managed to dine in the magnificent dining room!

And served water in a silver bowl!  Nothing is out of bounds when it comes to treating Genghis like the royalty he is!

"A drink, my dear?"

"I'm ready for walkies!"

"That was a lot of hard work - I'm exhausted!"
His black tongue is normal for a chow.

Magnificent Malachy

Here is the winner of the latest Westminster Dog Show held this week in New York city.....along with a whole bevy of beauties who also participated.

Malachy is a 4 year old Pekingese who can now retire and loll about to his heart's desire!

Enjoy!

Barn and Cottage Living

When I did a post on quilts a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't help but notice on my blog's Pinterest page that one of my readers chose the living room shown below by Justine Cushing as one of her favorites, and remarked that she would love to see the rest of this place.

By sheer coincidence, I was tidying up some House Beautiful magazines last night and one was smaller than all the rest..........I picked it up to casually peek at it again and, lo and behold, it was the magazine with this house in it from 2007.

I really love the large size of the living room, large windows throughout, faded wallpaper, chintz fabrics all combined with beautiful antiques and art collected over a lifetime, as well as the coziness of  all the rooms.

So, to my reader Barbara, here is the rest of this very lovely home in the Hamptons.......the main house is called 'the barn' and the smaller rooms shown here are in their nearby cottage.

Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day!
