Spring Green

It is the most beautiful day here in Charlottetown.....it's hard to believe it's only March 12!  It feels more like late April and is beginning to green up.

So, I have green on my mind today.  And have had for the past few weeks.  I know Pantone has named Tangerine Tango as the color of the year, but everywhere I look, I am seeing green............particularly in the most recent issues of decorating magazines, including House Beautiful and Country Home.

You really have to check out the new issue of Country Home.......the green on the cover is absolutely luscious!  This first picture has the green wall I am referring to, but this image does not do it justice....if anyone knows what the color is, please let me know!

Enjoy!

Board and Batten Interiors

Remember when board and batten was used mainly as home siding and/or in Arts and Crafts interiors?

No more!  It can be found anywhere in a home, as you will see below, and incorporated into decor by the most influential designers

A touch of board and batten here and there adds texture and dimension to walls, as well as a hint of cottage.

It can be a natural, eco and very attractive addition to new or existing homes!

What's a cottage without beadboard?

Love beadboard!

When it was first used a very long time ago, it was considered an inexpensive wall treatment and used mainly in bathrooms and kitchens.

All that has changed, however, and it is now used everywhere - walls, ceilings, living rooms, family rooms, bedrooms, kitchens - wherever your heart desires.

And it always looks great!  It not only adds texture and dimension to rooms, but also adds a little bit of country whether in a most humble cottage or a very elegant home.

Outdoor Living

Getting back to summer thoughts, as I mentioned last week, I will continue with some outdoor living ideas.

I'm afraid I got a little distracted with those weekend art posts!

This week I will concentrate on weekend getaways again.

Leave it to Habersham!

I picked up the new issue of Dream Kitchens & Baths today and among all the wonderful kitchens featured, there was one standout that I had seen on the Habersham site some time ago.

It's the kitchen of Kim and Paul Dacier.  Kim designed the kitchen and with the help of  Habersham Home, came up with some beautiful details.

As always when decorating, it's the details that make a room and even though this kitchen looks quite opulent, it is beautifully planned and thought out.

I like so many things about it.....the wonderful mouldings throughout, the distressed finish which makes it look aged already, the beadboard, the island seating area, the seaglass tiles, the farmhouse sink, the lighting,  the darkened beadboard in the cabinets which feature the plates, as well as the eat-at island!

Let me know what you think of it!

All of the above images are in the Dacier home

The following images are of other Habersham projects in various locations.
