Old World Charm in California
Good morning,
I awoke to more snow this morning.....can you believe it! However, it's still better than last year when we had snow well into May.
Look at this lovely Tudor home in California modelled after a dream Cotswold design.....and it looks like it's straight from England thanks to its designer, Linda Floyd of California (we follow one another on Pinterest!) I love her work.
And I love the details of this charming home.
Enjoy!

Love the eyebrow window, the stone and slatework, slate roof and leaded glass windows.
Doesn't this turreted stairwell remind you of an old English home? And that touch of pink! Perfection!
This sunny conservatory is what caught my eye - Scalamandre fabrics, Savonnerie rug and 18th Century French console.
Love this kitchen, too - painted, distressed cabinets and French baker's table - a work of art in itself.
Notice the etched glass and Moroccan tiles.
Wood panelled library.
Powder room.
Upstairs hallway with chintz farbric, gingham bench cushion and antiques.
Beautiful toiles and chintz.
Cozy and inviting guest room.
Look at their beautiful back garden with the thatched roof!

A Home by Ashley Whittaker
Hi there,
This Westchester, N.Y. home by Ashley Whittaker is a like a breath of fresh air.
You may recognize the living room and dining room as I used them in my moodboard on lavender and celery a while back. Now, you can see what the rest of the house looks like.
The fresh spring colors remind me of what's ahead for us........and real soon, I hope.
Enjoy!

TBT - Connecticut Classic
Here we are at Throwback Thursday again! Usually, I go much further back than this home from just a few years ago, but I happened upon the bathroom recently and it's just such a beautiful lady's bath that I was going to show just that......but, frankly, the whole house is worth sharing as it's such a big beautiful home with spacious rooms, beautiful colors and design. And a bathroom and watercloset to die for!

TBT - Lynn von Kersting
It's been a while since we've seen any new designs by Lynn von Kersting........she was everywhere about ten years ago and is still popular on Pinterest.
I happened to have Diedre Hall's studio dressing room by Lynn and it has all the hallmarks of a von Kersting design - a mix of wonderful fabrics (chintz, gingham, silk, small checks), books, fresh flowers, botanical wall art, seashells, many, many colors combined beautifully and a dash of antiques and pop art.
In this small room alone, I see green walls along with accent colors of red, yellow, mauve, blue, pink, turquoise, navy blue, red and white stripe and leopard print.
If one was talking about putting all those colors together in one small room, we would think it would never work! But with Lynn von Kersting, it works every time.
Loved her signature look then and still do!
