Some Wonderful Girl's Rooms

Little girls often dream of having their very own special rooms........their own little havens.

The following rooms have lots of details and ideas to incorporate into a child's room to personalize for any child.........murals, canopies, wall art, wonderful fabrics, monograms, side chairs, antiques, chandeliers and stuffed friends scattered about with comfort, color and prettiness everywhere!

Any child's dream!

Enjoy!

What little girl wouldn't love this room?  Living in a tent like room and surrounded by friends?

Love this ostrich painting.

The Monteceito Home of Designer Lee Kirch

Last year, I posted (here) a Monteceito cottage owned by designer Lee Kirch - an antique dealer who was (at the time of this article) part owner of an antique shop, Rue de Lillie, in Summerland, California, as well as a shop owner in Vail, Colorado.

As a French country enthusiast, she travels regularly to France to collect antiques.  She completely revamped this house and her passions are evident in every room.

Enjoy!

Windsong Too

Yesterday, I shared the New York City home of Wilbur and Hilary Ross which was decorated by Mario Buatta.

Today, we're touring the Palm Beach guest house of the Ross'.  After buying their John Volk designed Palm Beach getaway, Windsong, on Lake Worth about ten years ago, the Ross' had the guest house built in the same Georgian style as their new home.  Within the 3,500 sq. ft. space the architect, Thomas Kirchhoff, came up with a symmetrical design that included two bedrooms (each with their own separate bath) and a large oval ballroom that the Ross' can use anytime during the season for large cocktail and dinner parties.

In consultation with the architect and the Ross' in the house design, Mario then waved his magic wand and turned it into what he called "a real pleasure palace".  As Mario says, "Who wouldn't want to have their own ballroom?"  Yes, indeed!!

Enjoy!

P.S.

I've added the latest updates available on this home........check out the foyer, the completed ballroom look and dining al fresco in Palm Beach.

Enjoy!

The unfurnished ballroom gives you an idea of the size and scope overlooking Lake Worth.

Kate Forman's English Country Charm

I discovered Kate Forman's designs a few years ago while travelling through England.  The first piece I saw was a sofa and it was a standout!

A former antiques dealer, Kate took up textile design about ten years ago, and since then has established her brand by broadening it to include painted furniture, upholstered furniture, wallpaper, cushions, lamp shade covers, etc.

As you will see, she uses a lot of creams and rosy pinks with an occasional dash of soft blue or green thrown in.  All of it combined makes for a very warm and homey feel.

To see more of Kate Forman designs, check out www.kateforman.co.uk.

Enjoy!
